My goal as an industrial designer is to create products that bring joy to people’s lives, products they can bond with and care about. This emotional value has a long-term effect and inspires consumers to use products considerately and repair rather than replace them. Good design means finding a solution and combining functionality, ease of use, design, and technical feasibility to create one well-balanced product.
CArrer Path_
Jara Freund began studying industrial design at the University of Applied Sience, when she completed an internship in Braun‘s design department. After two and a half years of studying in Darmstadt, she spent an semester abroad at the University Hogeschool Howest in Belgium with a focus on the Methodology of Product Design. The program, city, people and Belgium-vibe were so appealing, hence she learned Dutch and decided to stay. In June 2018 Jara gained her diploma and completed her studies.
Since 2018 she is a product designer at De’Longhi Braun Household and has experience working on projects which involve complex design and development, team-work, problem solving and collaboration in cross-functional teams.

I love making pottery, learning and improving the craft of wheel throwing and working with my hands. During the pandemic, I set up a small studio in my cellar compartment where craft and experiment. Design and architecture fascinate me, and I consciously like to shape and design my surroundings. I also enjoy sports, whether tennis, climbing or soccer, it is not just exercise for me, but also a team experience. To recharge my batteries being outdoors and hiking in nature is my perfect balance.
